Solomaturana 2022

In open stainless steel tanks. Cold maceration for 2-4 days and fermentation for 10-12 days with daily punch-downs and hardly any pump-overs.

Wines aged in amphorae are the purest expression of a grape variety, in this case, Maturana. A native variety of Rioja, currently only 0.26% of the vineyards are planted with it. With this wine, we showcase its qualities in a specific location: the high-altitude vineyards on the northern slopes of the Sierra de Yerga.

2022 was characterized by a rather dry winter, followed by heat waves and a sharp temperature change in June. The summer was extremely hot and dry, resulting in small, concentrated grapes with good health.
