  • Viticulture and production

The wine was aged for 18 months in French oak barrels, of which 8 months were new, 5 months were one-year-old, and 5 months were two-year-old. Each barrel was individually selected for subsequent 6 months of aging in tanks, where natural stabilization through settling was completed. Following this, the wine began its bottle aging for a minimum of 15 months.

  • Tasting and pairing

Deep, intense ruby color. A very expressive, refined, and elegant nose. Ripe black fruit, aromatic herbs, and mint are well integrated with notes of wood, smoke, and minerals. Powerful, with a well-balanced acidity and alcohol content, silky tannins, and a long finish. A very elegant wine with a touch of wildness.

  • Additional information

This wine comes from a selection of the finest grapes from our Escarza vineyard, and only in exceptional years. Our vineyards are located on the southern slopes of the Obarenes Mountains, with a north-south orientation. Presented in a luxury individual wooden case. Clay-limestone soil. The vines are trellised, with a planting density of 3,200 vines per hectare, and are dry-farmed. Extensive green management practices are carried out, such as shoot thinning (removing new buds), bud removal (removing shoots from buds older than one year), leaf removal, and grape thinning, always seeking maximum exposure to wind and sun, improving the microclimate at the cluster level, and adjusting production to meet the required quality standards. The grapes are hand-harvested in 20 kg crates and then hand-sorted on a sorting table to ensure the highest quality.
