  • Viticulture and production

Fermented in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 24-26°C using indigenous yeasts. Malolactic fermentation and aging took place in 500-liter French oak barrels and concrete tanks. Aging time: 7 months. Only surface filtration (1 μm) was performed.

  • Tasting and pairing

Medium intensity, ruby color. Fragrant aroma dominated by red berries, spices, and chalky notes. The wine is medium-bodied, well-balanced, and fruit-oriented. The way the wine moves across the palate is exceptional. A Monastrell wine where complexity, finesse, delicacy, and a chalky sensation are the main attributes. The wine is quite versatile, pairing well with any type of meat and also fish dishes with sauces. And, of course, a really good wine for tapas and casual meals.

  • Additional information

Bush vines, dry-farmed, no irrigation. Altitude: 650-730 m. Average age: 40 years. Low planting density (2.7 x 2.7 m spacing). The core of this wine comes from two plots with different soils and orientations, both with a limestone concentration exceeding 30%. Two soil types: one plot with deep sandy soil, located at the bottom of a slope where water retention occurs; here, a multitude of roots of varying sizes can be found at a depth of 1.50 m, while at 1.20 m there are layers of calcareous soil. The vines perform vigorously in this soil, producing large berries with greater dilution. The other plot has sandy loam soil with a high limestone content, a rather poor soil where the roots only reach a depth of 70 cm and where a calcareous layer is also present. This plot exhibits greater concentration and structure than the other. The result is two complementary fruit styles: on the one hand, fluid and light wines, and on the other, more concentrated and structured wines. Harvested in September 2023, hand-picked in 12 kg crates. Production: 12,078 bottles. Bottled: May 2024. Serving temperature between 15 and 18ºC
